Trends of carbon partitioning in soils of the southeast Alaskan coastal temperate rainforest. Processes of soil formation on contrasting lithology. Radiocarbon analysis of bulk soil and density pools. Nutrient cycling and carbon storage. Natural land management practices involving restoration and remediation of compromised soils and riparian zones.
Background:
Before starting her master’s degree at Oregon State, Julia lived in SW Ohio and graduated from Miami University in the spring of 2019. She is passionate about research, hiking, sustainability, making scientific knowledge attainable by the general public, and aims to be a continuous learner.
